Gudmundstjärn, located 30 km west of Sundsvall, is one of Sweden's last preserved self-sufficient settlements. Between 1779 and 1944 the fields here were farmed by five generations. No roads connected the homestead to the outside world. The 22 preserved buildings have been declared historical monuments, and the area is now a nature reserve.

Explore the nature and culture by bike! For the first time in Sweden you can do this on an International cycling trail. It's 370 kilometres long, almost free from cars, with unique seaside locations. The trail connects Helsingborg in the south to Gothenburg in the north, all the way through Halland. Kattegattleden is divided into 8 sections. Each section offers unique tourist destinations, places to stay, bike rentals and service stations. Cycle through fantastic landscapes, eat in small authentic restaurants, swim at rocky or soft sandy beaches, and just enjoy the wind in your face.

A former school known as S-21, this building became the hub of the Khmer Rouge’s interrogation and torture of more than 17,000 ‘enemies’ of the state. School rooms were turned into cells and today victims’ portraits align the corridors of this daunting building. This is an emotional visit, a place to pay respect to the victims of Cambodia’s tragedy.
