Constructed in the late 1540s under the rule of Gustav Vasa, Uppsala Castle stands as a testament to centuries of Swedish history. This historic fortress has witnessed pivotal events like the Sture Murders and the abdication of Queen Christina of Sweden. Today, the castle serves as a venue for meetings and conferences in its majestic Great Hall, while also being the residence of the County Governor. Visitors can explore the Uppsala Peace Museum, attend lectures, enjoy films, appreciate modern art at the Uppsala Art Museum, and delve into the castle's history amidst the ruins of Vasaborg.

Tropea is a small town located on the east coast of Calabria, 64 km from Lamezia. It’s known for its white beaches which run right up to Capo Vaticano, its clifftop historic centre, and prized red onions. The town itself is quite picturesque and romantic with winding streets and beautiful small piazzas. Noteworthy is the 12th-century Tropea Cathedral, which was built in distinctive yellow lava rock by the Normans during the 12th century and houses an interesting black crucifix, two unexploded World War II bombs, and a painting of the dark-skinned Madonna of Romania. Due to a number of wonders, the citizens of Tropea have proclaimed the Virgin Mary of Romania the patron of the village.

Step back in time at Fort Macon State Park, home to a meticulously restored pre-Civil War fort that now serves as a museum, offering daily guided tours and frequent cannon and musket demonstrations. The park provides public access to the pristine beaches of the Crystal Coast, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Beaufort Inlet, and Bogue Sound. Visitors can explore undisturbed natural salt marshes and estuaries vital to the coastal ecosystem.

The Ethnographic Museum is located in an old granary dating to the 16th century, where it is possible to see just how much attention the residents of Dubrovnik gave to the storage of grain. The Dubrovnik Republic kept all the state reserves of wheat, barley and millet in deep silos called 'rupe', carved out of stone and coated with a water-proof material that kept the grain at a temperature of 17ºC. The traditional rural economy and architecture of the Dubrovnik region is found on the First Floor. Folk costumes and textile handiwork can be seen on the 2nd Floor.
