Parc Montsouris is one of four major parks created under Napoleon III at the edges of Paris. With its lake, waterfall, and wide lawns, it’s a year-round favourite for locals — whether for a picnic, a run, or just some quiet time outdoors.

Tivoli park was once the grounds of a castle barely two kilometres from the historic centre of Mechelen. These days you can enjoy a quiet stroll here across the large expanses of grass, past ancient trees, a highly-scented rose garden, a herb garden and other delightful nooks. Now pure white again, in 1990 the famous Belgian artist Jan Fabre wrapped the castle in sheets of paper covered with ballpoint lines for which 150,000 blue pens were required! Since 1991 the mansion has housed a catering establishment specializing in parties, seminars and the like. Drinks, snacks and lunches are served to the general public in the adjoining orangery. Small children will love meeting a whole variety of farm animals on the children's farm. Other attractions include the large bee colony and the educational nature trail where signs draw your attention to aspects of the park's history, fauna and flora.

This isn't, technically, a museum, but rather a traditional Eastern spa with a hammam, as well as body and facial treatments. Come here to enjoy a thorough scrub and utter relaxation, with treatments featuring locally produced Argan oil.

Le Marais, on the Right Bank in the 3rd and 4th arrondissements, mixes old and new with its 17th-century buildings and trendy vibe. It’s a lively area known for its museums, galleries, quirky shops, and buzzing nightlife. You'll also find plenty of kosher restaurants and historic spots like Place des Vosges — Paris’s oldest square — where the writer Victor Hugo once lived. Plus, it’s a hub for the city’s LGBT community, making it one of Paris’s most colourful neighbourhoods.
