Roundhay Park is a big open space with wonderful surroundings and many walking and cycling routes that will keep you busy for a whole day. It covers more than 700 acres of woodland and lakes, where people enjoy watching and feeding the numerous species of birds, such as swans, herons and woodpeckers. Also, this huge natural area is house of the Tropical World, an animal park that includes lots of species, from lemurs to iguanas and armadillos.

Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island is probably the most well-known freshwater lake in Australia. Located 100 metres above the sea level, it is classified as a 'perched lake', which means that all of the crystal-clear water comes from the rain. High levels of acidity in the lake and the fact that all nutrients have been washed out of the shimmering white silica sand make the water unsuitable for nearly all forms of plant and fish life. It is likely the purest water you'll ever dip your toes in. The Aboriginal name for the lake is Boorangoora, which means 'waters of wisdom'. It was and still is known as a place for decision-making.

Located in the heart of the city of Leeds, Saint Anne's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church. Completed in 1904, the building features impressive mosaics and reredos, as well as beautiful altar details and marble sculptures. You will find this peaceful sanctuary close to the city museum and art gallery, surrounded by restaurants and cafes where you can stop after visiting.
