Located about 75 kilometres outside of the city of Jizan, there are several geological spots with wonderful warm sulfur hot springs, including Al-Khoubah and Bani Malik. At temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius, it is a relaxing experience like few others, and the numerous minerals found in the water are said to have all manner of health benefits.

Located in within the Bodrum Castle walls, the Museum of Underwater Archaeology is an acclaimed, dynamic institution, well worth dedicating a few hours to. Its exhibits feature unique ancient artefacts, including a shipwreck from 1400 BC and a large collection of glass. Be sure not to miss the exquisite collection of amphorae.

Peace Arch Park is a unique 20-acre sanctuary that straddles the boundary between the United States and Canada. Explore the park's vibrant gardens bursting with colorful blooms and stroll through vast lawns offering panoramic views of Point Roberts and Vancouver Island. It’s a place where two nations meet in peace and celebration, with a busy calendar of cultural events.

Further inland, in the southern part of the island, lie the so-called masticochoria (mastic villages). These well-preserved, fortified villages date from the 14th-16th centuries and were centres for the cultivation of mastic. Mastic is the sweet-tasting gum of the lentisk bush, which was exported all over the Mediterranean – and the area still produces around 300 tonnes of mastic every year. The most picturesque villages are Pyrgi, with its houses decorated in black and white geometric patterns called xysta Mesta, where towers and walls surround a baffling labyrinth of village streets as well as Olympoi and Vessa are all a worth a visit.
