One of Kochi's most iconic sights is the Chinese Fishing Nets, or Cheena vala, which have been associated with the region for centuries. These massive, cantilevered fishing contraptions, introduced by Chinese explorers during Kublai Khan's reign, are still used by local fishermen today. The nets operate with a mesmerising ballet of precision and balance, elegantly lowered and raised with the tide, often requiring several men to pull the catch. At sunset, the silhouette of these age-old devices against the horizon creates a mystical atmosphere, turning the act of fishing into a spectacle of heritage and ingenuity.

Bali Bird Park is home to around 250 bird species—some native, others from as far as South America and Africa. There’s also a small reptile section, including a Komodo dragon. It’s a good stop if you're into wildlife or visiting with kids.

Crafted by the skilled sculptor Giambologna in the 16th century, the colossal Fontana di Nettuno graces the heart of Piazza Maggiore with its majestic presence. The life-size bronze statue of Neptune, poised atop a shell-shaped chariot pulled by seahorses and surrounded by allegorical figures, exudes a sense of power and elegance. Serving as an iconic landmark of Bologna, the fountain not only embodies the city's rich artistic heritage but also functions as a gathering point for residents and tourists to appreciate the intersection of art, history, and civic life in this charming Italian city.

The Church of San Pietro is a beautiful Benedictine abbey, originally founded in the 10th century. The church has some fine 15th and 16th century architecture, a good collection of Renaissance art, including frescoes and paintings by Raphael, Vasari, Vassillacchi, Perugino and Parmigiano and possibly the best wooden choir (16th century) in Italy.
