Winner of the European Museum of the Year award (2013), the Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel contains some rare example of vintage vehicles, ranging from old-model trams to cars and even chariots. The authentic Creole villa is now open for public tours, the owners gladly walk visitors through the well-preserved 19th-century house and lush garden premises. With a collection of nearly 35 million specimens and artifacts, this is the largest natural and historical museum in the Western United States.
