Northern Dalarna boasts 560 kilometers of well-prepared cross-country ski tracks waiting to take you on new adventures. The trails are divided among 19 different track centers, with at least one near each of our four main localities: Grövelsjön, Idre, Särna and Älvdalen. There are plenty of illuminated ski tracks for evening tours in the winter darkness.

The National Museum of Ethiopia contains a plethora of cultural artefacts. Its most notable exhibit, however, is the cast of Lucy — a female skeleton of the Australopithecus afarensis species, discovered in Ethiopia in 1974 and dating back as far as 3.2 million years. Art lovers will appreciate the museum's collection of Ethiopian art from the 14th to the 20th centuries.

The International Museum of the Prophet's Biography offers a detailed, technology-driven exploration of the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. Located within the Clock Tower complex in Mecca, it uses immersive multimedia exhibits, 3D models and cinematic presentations to convey its narrative. The approach is modern and educational, focusing on accessibility for an international audience with multi-language support. Rather than displaying historical artefacts, the museum prioritises storytelling and moral instruction, providing a structured, informative complement to the spiritual experience of visiting the holy city.

High above the city on Cidneo Hill, the castle was built between the 13th and 16th centuries. There are a number of museums up here, and the views over the city and the Brescia plain are great – well worth the effort of the climb up here!
