Crowned by the looming Tsutenkaku tower, the district of Shinsekai is one of the city's premier entertainment districts, with a slew of dining, drinking and shopping options. It is also the best place int he city to try kushikatsu, a regional delicacy consisting of skewered and deep-fried meat and vegetables.

Named after its crescent shape, Half Moon Bay is a long stretch of pink and white sand located on the southeastern coast of the island, about 40 minutes from the capital. Its azure waters and a living coral reef just offshore are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. In the middle, towards the south of the beach, the surf becomes a little choppy, which is great for wakeboarding and bodysurfing. Even though the beach is very popular with tourists and locals alike, you won't have a problem finding a quiet spot, even on the busiest days.

Jemaa el-Fna, the vibrant epicentre of Marrakesh's medina, is a riot of colours, sounds and scents, especially at sunset. Though the square has transitioned from its roots as a daily food market for mountain traders, its hustle and energy remain palpable. During the day, vendors offer refreshing fruit juices, but it's at dusk when the place truly transforms. Street theatre, or 'halqa,' has been a mainstay here since the 11th century, and the tradition continues in modern times. As the sun dips below the horizon, food stalls magically unfold, adding tantalising aromas to the air. Musicians tune their instruments, snake charmers enchant both serpents and tourists, and the spectacle crescendos into a nightly celebration of Marrakeshi life and culture.

The park is wrapped around One Tree Hill and its obelisk monument, which was erected in memory of the donor of the park Sir John Logan Campbell. Regular guided tours, workshops and other events are held here, and the park is a beautiful area for a stroll through nature and to enjoy magnificent gardens, a large tree and bird diversity and stunning views.
