Château d'If was, historically, France’s very own Alcatraz, built in 1527 and used as a prison in the 17th century. This place was the inspiration for Alexandre Dumas's novel "The Count of Monte Cristo", and occupies an island of its own 1.5 km offshore.

Basilique Saint-Michel is a Gothic church dating back to the 14th century, and it stands out for its separate, 114-metre bell tower — the tallest in southern France. You can climb the tower for great views over Bordeaux. Inside, there are plenty of chapels with old artwork, and the whole place is part of the UNESCO-listed Routes of Santiago pilgrimage.

The MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore’s oldest water reservoir. Its main purpose is to collect rainwater and provide drinkable water to Singapore’s residents. Additionally, the reservoir is the central feature in MacRitchie Reservoir Park. The MacRitchie Nature Trail is a series of boardwalks that vary in length and take you through the tropical rainforest. The TreeTop Walk — one of the park's main draws — is a suspension bridge that gives you a bird’s-eye view of the forest below. On your walk, you will definitely see some monkeys. They are definitely cute, but can be a little naughty, especially if you are carrying any food.

This is an impressive Marseille roundabout where many tourist photos have been taken. It is a major transport hub, whose focal point is a large fountain with an interesting obelisk statue. There are several cafés around the square's perimeter and off down the streets of the neighbourhood.
