The White Tower is the most iconic symbol of the city. The tower was constructed by the Ottomans sometime in the early 15th century and once guarded the eastern end of the city's sea walls. In the 19th century, this tower was used as a notorious prison. Nowadays, it is a welcoming museum of art and local history. The museum offers a rapid lesson in the history of the city. At the western gate of the Unaizah city, Al Bassam Heritage House is a traditional building, carefully preserved to showcase architectural elements and relics of the past. The mansion has an open area, a dining area, and a majlis ("sitting room"), with a men’s reception section, garden section, family section, and animal pens.

Malaga’s coastline runs right along the city, so you don’t need to go far for a swim. The main stretch starts near the port along the Paseo de Pablo Ruiz Picasso. La Malagueta is the most central beach — about 10 minutes from the Old Town — with dark sand, showers, toilets, and sunbeds for hire. You’ll spot the big Malagueta sign where everyone stops for photos. The beach is lined with chiringuitos, casual seafood spots where you can try grilled sardines (espetos) cooked over open fire. La Caleta, just a bit further east, is quieter but has the same setup — clean, calm water, and easy access.

Located inside Ibirapuera Park, OCA is a space-age exhibition hall, designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the shape of an indigenous hut, which hosts interesting events and cultural exhibitions.
