Aguamarina Cove, about 55 km from Alicante, is a spot known for its peaceful atmosphere and lack of crowds. You can come here mainly to enjoy swimming in the clear, calm waters. The cove has only a few services, but during the summer months a beach bar is open, where you can grab a drink or a light meal. You can also rent kayaks, paddleboards or pedal boats to explore the coast from the water. Keep in mind that reaching the beach requires climbing down a set of stairs, so it may not be suitable for everyone.

One of Moldova's unmissable attractions is the Milestii Mici winery, located a short drive outside the city centre. Book a guided tour of the world's largest wine cellar with a staggering 3,000,000 bottles, all contained in a former quarry spanning dozens of underground kilometres. Only a manageable part of the storage space is visited, followed by a wine tasting and pre-bookable three-course meal at the on-site restaurant 70 metres under ground.

Siena still runs on medieval time—in the best way. Its centre hasn’t changed much in centuries, and that’s part of the charm. The Piazza del Campo is the heart of it all—it’s where the Palio horse race happens twice a year. Climb the Torre del Mangia for wide views across the rooftops. The cathedral’s worth the time, especially its black-and-white striped interior, detailed floor mosaics (open seasonally), and the Piccolomini Library tucked inside. Don’t skip the crypt or the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo—they’re quieter and give you a different angle on the city.

Opened in 2016, the House of Eternal Return is a self-titled combination of “children’s museum, art gallery, jungle gym and fantasy novel”. It has been formed by the Meow Wolf collective and over 100 local artists. The installation represents a Victorian house, in which each visitor can choose their individual path.
