The Cabarrus Arts Council is the cultural heartbeat of the community, celebrating creativity through diverse programs and exhibitions. It’s home to the Davis Theatre, where live performances bring stories to life, and the Galleries, showcasing rotating art exhibits from local and global talent.

The stylised Kabuki-za theatre performance consists of elaborate choreography and makeup combined with colourful traditional nagauta music. In the 17th century, female kabuki performers were banned; men now play the roles of both genders most convincingly.

One of Kochi's most iconic sights is the Chinese Fishing Nets, or Cheena vala, which have been associated with the region for centuries. These massive, cantilevered fishing contraptions, introduced by Chinese explorers during Kublai Khan's reign, are still used by local fishermen today. The nets operate with a mesmerising ballet of precision and balance, elegantly lowered and raised with the tide, often requiring several men to pull the catch. At sunset, the silhouette of these age-old devices against the horizon creates a mystical atmosphere, turning the act of fishing into a spectacle of heritage and ingenuity.

This beautiful building was first named a church in the 14th century and later given the status of Cathedral in 1601. It's a Gothic masterpiece, where the atmospheric darkness, the presence of an organ and countless statues create a mysterious and solemn atmosphere. Admission is free.
