Spread over 248 hectares, Saint-Pierre Woods offer numerous activities for sport-lovers of any age and ability. Hike or cycle down its 8 km long walking trails, discover the animal park, chill at the swimming pool or play a round of mini-golf: Bois de Saint-Pierre is a wonderful day-trip solution.

One of the most colourful streets of Funchal, Santa Maria street is a loving art project of local artists. Over 200 doors are plastered with eye-popping paintings of all kinds. Walk down this narrow cobbled street and perhaps take a break in one of the many rustic restaurants and cafes.

This magnificent cathedral was built over 500 years ago, in the beautiful Gothic style. The cathedral has an impressive silver cross, donated by King Manuel himself in the 16th century, as well as sculptures and incredible oil paintings.

XVIII century construction from the Baroque period, ascribed to José Sierra The church is situated in the old part of the town, just beside the Nobel house of the Orduña’s. This construction was built between 1740 and 1753 over the plot of land where the primitive temple used to be and dates from the Christian Conquest (XIII century). The church was burnt and plundered during the Civil War and was again changed in 1962, shortening its length and changing the ground floor, this led to the loss of the cupola and the transept. Between 1995 and 1996 we undertook the task of renovation and interior decoration in order to save the present day building.
