Rouen's principle square is the Place du Vieux-Marche. This is a great place to go for dinner since there are many restaurants and cafés located in the area. Here you can also find the modern Church of Saint Joan of Arc - an incredibly unique architectural creation, as well as a small covered market selling delightful French cheeses and deli. There is an oyster bar with fresh offerings at the market's heart.

A private mansion with a nice garden turned into a museum, a place where you can admire works from Turkish artists created between 1850 and 1950. There are also excellent collection of calligraphy, religious and state documents, classical Turkish furniture and well as paintings of the Ottoman era. The museum is beautifully located on a hilltop, overlooking the Bosphorus.

In 1832, Russia began construction of the fortress of Bomarsund. Since Åland then constituted the westernmost part of Czarist Russia and had a location of strategic importance, Russia desired a strong military presence and an impressive fortress there. During the Crimean War, in 1854, an Anglo-French naval force attacked the fortress, which resulted in the Battle of Bomarsund. The fortress was demolished and today only ruins (and the Bomarsund Museum) serve testament to Russian presence and the grandiose plans once wielded for Åland. With an area of 5.5 acres, this park houses over 150 different species from all over the world, from macaws to crocodiles to peacocks and raccoons. The park can be explored through covered walkways, which makes it enjoyable even during heavy rainfall, and children can have fun and feed the animals during the feeding sessions.
