The largest theme park in the area, Busch Gardens’ hallmarks are its roller coasters and nearly 3,000 live animals, incorporated into various exhibits and shows. SheiKra will give you all the thrills you can handle with a 200-foot drop, 90 degrees straight down, or for the traditionalists there is Gwazi, a wooden roller coaster with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. Jungala is an attraction where guests can get face-to-face with orangutans or play tug-of-war with tigers.

Dafnes Beach is a long, sandy public beach located about seven kilometres north of Patras city centre. A popular local escape, its clear, shallow waters and proximity to town make it ideal for a quick swim or a late-afternoon visit. You can rent an umbrella from the simple cantina or find a more secluded spot further along the shore. Recent upgrades have added free municipal sunbeds and improved parking, enhancing its appeal as a convenient and relaxed seaside option.

Nessebar, a city-museum and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another marvellous day trip from Burgas, located just 35 kilometres away. This ancient town, often called the "Pearl of the Black Sea", sits on a small peninsula connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, offering stunning sea views on both sides. Its cobblestone streets wind through a historic centre filled with over a millennium of architectural treasures, including the Church of St. Sofia, a 5th-century basilica, and other medieval churches like St. John the Baptist and St. Stephen. The Old Town, a maze of narrow lanes and 18th-century houses, invites leisurely exploration, with artisan shops and street vendors adding to its charm. Nessebar was once a Thracian settlement and later a Greek colony, playing a key role in the development of trade and culture in the Black Sea region. Its unique blend of ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, and a lively atmosphere makes it a captivating destination for history enthusiasts and casual vacationers.

Korkeasaari Zoo, or Helsinki Zoo, is one of the oldest zoos in the world, and one of the few located on an island. Just a short ferry (in summer) or bus ride from the city centre, Korkeasaari offers a journey through diverse habitats, from northern forests to tropical rainforests. Home to around 150 animal species and 1,000 plant species, the zoo is dedicated to biodiversity and conservation in a unique natural setting.
