Served as the presidential palace between 1919 and 1940, this building is one of the most important locations of Lithuanian history. Once the home of presidents like A. Smetona, K. Grinius and A. Stulginskis, today it hosts various cultural events, as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Cessnock developed as a private village on the road that is now known as The Convict Trail, the original Sydney – Hunter Valley road hand-built by 3,000 convicts. Originally a service centre for travellers, Cessnock became a major mining centre at the turn of the century, however wine and tourism have since become the major local industries.

Stortorget, the largest square in Karlskrona, stands proudly at the heart of Trossö island, forming the central hub of the city. This grand square, perched on the island's highest point, is surrounded by monumental buildings that tell tales of the city's rich history. The centrepiece is the statue of Karl XI, overseeing the bustling paved expanse. Two magnificent churches, Fredrikskyrkan (The Frederick Church) and Trefaldighetskyrkan (The Holy Trinity Church), also known as the German Church, add to the square's allure. Stortorget captivates visitors with its architectural splendour, and the surrounding pedestrian streets feature an array of restaurants and cafés.

Commonly known as the garrison church, this Neo-Byzantine-style building was designed and built by order of Russian Tsar Alexander III in the late 19th century. Located at the eastern end of the main pedestrian street Laisves aleja, it is one of the most impressive landmarks of the city, and a lot more than a Roman Catholic church: the catacombs underneath are home to the Museum for the Blind, where there is not much to see—but a lot to experience!
