The bohemian quarter of Santiago, Barrio Bellavista, between the Mapocho River and San Cristóbal Hill, is bursting with secret oddities, colourful graffiti and hidden stalls and boutiques. During the day, you can enjoy the sun, take a stroll and buy all sorts of handcrafted and unique works of art. The weekly art market typically features jewellery made from Lapis Lazuli, a stone that, thanks to its deep blue colour, seems to fit the vibrant surroundings perfectly. At night, Bellavista transforms into a dazzling nightlife hub with a great selection of unique bars and restaurants.

As one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Germany, Leipzig’s old town hall is well worth a visit. It is located on the market square of the city and, since 1909, not only offers a great photo opportunity, but also an interesting exhibition about the city’s history from the middle age until our recent and modern time.

If you saw the movie Frida, the studio and home of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo is a must stop on your visit to Mexico City — some of the scenes were filmed here. The complex of buildings is a great example of functional architecture, with its abundance of soft light and free flowing creative atmosphere. The houses are linked with an elevated walkway, representing the separate yet linked lives the two great artists lived. Check for temporary visits before going! Some areas of the house might be closed if there is no exhibit.
