Patras Castle stands on the city's highest point, built over the ancient acropolis in the 6th century. Its strategic location grants you panoramic views over the city, the port, and the Gulf of Patras. The site is an open-air historical archive, its triangular walls and towers bearing the architectural imprints of Byzantine, Frankish, Venetian and Ottoman occupiers. Today, it functions as a free public park where you can walk the grounds, explore the ruins and find shaded benches.

Solliden is the summer residence of the Swedish royal family, which they visit several times a year. Commissioned by Queen Victoria, on the advice of her doctor Axel Munthe, and with Mediterranean influences, the palace was completed in 1906. Munthe was of the opinion that Öland’s abundant sunshine and oxygen-rich air would improve her health, and to this day the royals are happy to enjoy Öland’s sun! Solliden Palace is open to visitors throughout the summer months. Visitors have free access to most of the parks. Café, shop and a pavilion with exhibitions.

Patriot Sportfishing offers more than just deep-sea fishing; they also provide whale watching and private charter options. They specialize in rockcod fishing during the open season, which runs from April 1st to December 31st.

The Roman Odeon is an ancient open-air theatre. Used in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, its floor, wings, and orchestra pit are still in very good condition. Today, the theatre hosts a variety of cultural events.
