This is Porto Santo’s most popular walk, though it rarely feels crowded, especially if you go first thing in the morning. The well-marked PR1 trail is around 5 km return and threads through the island’s northeastern hills, crossing a protected Natura 2000 area where you can spot native plants, wildflowers, and seabirds. The route is moderately challenging, with some steady climbs, but nothing too demanding for anyone used to hill walking. The reward comes at the viewpoints. Terra Chã looks out over rugged cliffs and deep blue water, while Pico Branco, the island’s second-highest point, offers wide 360-degree views across Porto Santo and the Atlantic beyond. The whole hike typically takes under three hours at an easy, unhurried pace, and at the top, you'll find a few picnic areas if you want to recharge before heading back.

Housed in a 13th century building that was once a Benedictine monastery, the National Museum of San Matteo contains works from the main religious buildings of the city. The 14th and 15th century collections are remarkable: the Pisan sculpture and a collection of paintings consisting of nearly 200 works from the Tuscan school. The picture gallery keeps paintings by Italian and foreign artists dating back as far as the 18th century, ecclesiastical vestments and liturgical goldworks.

King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, often called "The Shining Jewel", is Saudi Arabia's largest stadium, with a capacity for over 60,000 spectators. Located north of Jeddah, it serves as the home ground for the prominent Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli football clubs and is designed to host major international events. Its architecture incorporates geometric Islamic patterns and functions like a modern mashrabiya, providing shade and ventilation in the coastal climate. The stadium is the centrepiece of a larger sports city that includes an indoor arena, practice pitches and tennis courts. While primarily a sports venue, it has also hosted international wrestling and music concerts, establishing itself as a key multipurpose arena.
