Griffith Park, spanning over 4,000 acres, is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. It has served as the backdrop for numerous films, including "Batman" and "Jurassic Park." The park is home to the Griffith Observatory, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Autry Museum of the American West, and the Travel Town Museum. Visitors can explore 53 miles of scenic hiking trails and enjoy swimming, biking, and horseback riding, ensuring there's something for everyone. Griffith Park is also home to the Hollywood sign, which stands on Mt. Lee.

Not far from the city centre lies this basilica, which is said to have been built upon the place where St Peter landed on his way from the Aegean Sea to Rome. If you walk in, you can admire medieval paintings and beautiful frescoes, both on the left and the right side of the church, dating back to 1200 and 1300. Around the location, where a small village has arisen, one can go for a walk and look for some local restaurants.

The picturesque village Niehove stands as a testament to historical ingenuity. Built on a terp, a man-made hill, to outsmart the advancing sea, its layout has remained unchanged for centuries. This former capital of Humsterland is a maze of narrow church paths and red brick houses, arranged in concentric circles around a central, 13th-century Romanesque-Gothic church. Once the only stone structure in Niehove, the church now houses a visitor centre, sharing the village's rich history. This protected site, with its unique street plan and tranquil charm, invites visitors to step back in time.
