The area around Grand Bay (=Grand Baie) was the first one to develop mass tourism, and up to this very day, it still remains the centre of tourist attraction. The small town in the North is bustling with locals and tourists alike, as it boasts many leisure activities and charming boutiques, as well as a vibrant nightlife and – of course – the famous beach La Cuvette.

Oudayas Kasbah near Rabat's nedina has kept its old cannons placed on a bastion. Its massive gate is entirely carved, while its blue and white walls give it a Mediterranean atmosphere. Cobbled streets lead to the El Atiqa Mosque, the oldest in the city, and on to the old semaphore platform. The view from here, or the terrace of the neighbouring Café Maure, is splendid: Rabat, nearby Salé and Bouregreg river meeting the ocean. The Oudayas Palace, further on up, which now houses the National Museum, has conserved its markedly simple and balanced original decor. The Andalusian Gardens below are a heaven of peace full of fruit trees, rose-laurels and cascades of bougainvilleas.

The Jeddah Corniche is a 30-kilometre coastal pathway that functions as a primary public space for the city. It is a popular destination for evening strolls, with residents and visitors walking along the Red Sea shore. The area includes several public art installations from the Jeddah Open-Air Museum. The King Fahd Fountain, one of the tallest in the world, is a prominent landmark along the waterfront. The atmosphere is particularly lively around sunset, when the light over the water draws larger crowds.
