Once a 1950s military factory complex, 798 has been converted into Beijing’s best-known contemporary art district. Monheim house, a remodelled 17th century pharmacy, has housed the collection of Couven Museum since 1958. Showcasing Directoire, Empire, and Biedermeier-style period rooms, it also features a historic pharmacy, kitchen, and porcelain tiles collection.
