This site once was a military fortress and then became the first and most advanced pier in ancient China. Nowadays, it has been turned into a 75-metre tall building on the margin of the Jialing River packed with many restaurants, cafes, temples and craft stalls. When the sun sets, the building illuminates the surroundings, making them look dream-like.

Over the past few decades, Nantes has quietly turned into one of the most inventive cities in France. It's possible to go fishing in winter, but only on lakes and reservoirs, as most streams are closed from late June until the first weekend of October. You can also fish at Lake Eucumbene, Lake Jindabyne and Khancoban Pondage to enjoy the best fishing in the region. A licence is require, so obtain it online or at one of the many fishing retailers in the area.

The town of Falmouth is home to several organizations dedicated to the study of the oceans and the organisms that call them home. The Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole is an independent research facility that has earned a place in the international scientific community. Visitors can tour the campus and get a look at some of the animals used in the MBL's research during the summer months. Tours last approximately one hour and require a reservation to be made at least one week in advance.
