Timidly emerging from the waters of Guanabara Bay, this 395 meters tall, egg-shaped mountain is one of the tourists' favourite destinations in Rio de Janeiro. Check the weather forecast to be sure of going on a clear day, and venture up to the top of the mountain to enjoy an astonishing 360-degree view including that of the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the pristine beaches, the cityscape and the surrounding natural environment. The easiest and fastest way to reach the top of the mountain is by cable car but climbing is always an option.

Plan a field trip to the seaside town Canet-en-Roussillon, located only 12 km away from Perpignan. Here you can enjoy 9 km of beaches of fine sand, discover ancient ruins and a castle or stroll around in the old town. In addition, there are some water sport activities available here such as windsurfing, beach volleyball, kayaking and jet skiing.

One of Beijing’s oldest hutongs — the city’s traditional narrow alleyways lined with courtyard houses — Nanluoguxiang has kept its Ming dynasty street layout while changing completely in character. Today, the lane is dotted with cafés, bars, boutiques, and souvenir shops, drawing a mix of tourists and young locals. It runs from Drum Tower East Street down to Ping’an Street, and it’s usually packed in the evenings when the lights come on. The old courtyards are still there behind the modern shopfronts, so you get a contrast between Beijing’s past and its current street life.

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MaMa) opened its doors in 2007 and aims to preserve the region's cultural heritage, art and history. It supports locals artists by giving them a platform and invites visitors to take a closer look on contemporary works of art. Not only the exhibitions, but also the building, transformed from a department store to the museum it is today, make this place worth a visit.
