Up on the hill of Sveti Križ, the Astronomical Centre opened its doors in 2009 and nowadays is the only facility of its kind in Croatia. In addition to the observatory, inside you will find a digital planetarium and a conference room, as well as a coffeehouse and the panoramic terrace at the roof of what once was a military fortress.

Dating back over 3,000 years, Karnak is a monumental complex of temples, pylons, and chapels. The most significant structure is the Temple of Amun-Ra. The Hypostyle hall, at 16,459 square metres and featuring 134 columns, is still the largest room of any religious building in the world. Besides the main sanctuary, there are several smaller temples and a vast sacred lake.

Cifte Amam is the second largest Turkish bath in Skopje which has also been converted into a contemporary art gallery. In the art gallery you can view works from international and domestic artists. The building itself is impressing with its functionality and architectural design.

This extravagantly decorated clandestine church built centuries ago when Catholicism was considered a crime is hidden in plain sight behind an unassuming front door in the city centre. Those walking down Juffrouw Idastraat would never imagine that within one of the typical terraced houses lies the enormous Parish of Saints James and Augustine where Catholics used to practice their faith in secret. Nobody is quite sure who built the church, but the stunning baroque plastering seems to suggest that it was the famous architect and artist Daniel Marot or one of his students.
