Samil Beach (or Praia de Samil) is, perhaps, the finest stretch of sand in the area, easily accessible from downtown Vigo. Only 5km away from the city centre and with opportunities for dining and relaxation (including open-air kids' pools and beach facilities), the beach is an excellent choice for a day trip.

The Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park is a diver's and snorkeller's paradise, showcasing the island's most celebrated underwater treasures. It features renowned dive sites such as the Palancar, Columbia, and Paradise reefs, where you can explore stunning coral formations and encounter an array of marine life. Dive into the dramatic Devil’s Throat at Punta Sur or discover the historic Felipe Xicoténcatl shipwreck, a WWII minesweeper now home to an impressive array of sea creatures. With up to 26 species of coral and 300 species of fish, the park offers an unforgettable underwater adventure in one of the Caribbean's most spectacular marine environments.

Walk through the Tegallalang Rice Terrace, about 20 minutes north of Ubud. It's a steep, stepped landscape shaped by the traditional subak irrigation system, which keeps the fields bright green for most of the year. Go early to beat the heat and crowds. There are swings, zip lines, and cafés on the edges, but the best part is just following the narrow paths through the terraces and taking it all in.

Contained inside what was once built to become a public prison, the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art is a local cultural center that boasts a regular rotation of exhibitions, showcasing various forms of artwork (from painting to modern design). There is no permanent exhibition, however, so do check what's on when you're in town.
