This Baroque castle is undoubtedly the most prominent landmark of Saarbrücken. First mentions of a "Castellum Sarabrucca" date back to medieval times, but the city had seen several attacks and revivals until the building reached its current imposing presence. Today, it is home to various cultural events and the Invisible Jewish Memorial, made up of cobblestones engraved with cemeteries from all across Germany.

The main entrance to the Archaeological Museum of Istria (Arheoloski Muzej Istre) is actually one of the original gates that served as an entry point into the old Roman town. The museum carries a fascinating range of archaeological artefacts from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages from the region. You will find architectural highlights on the ground floor, Neolithic and Roman era finds on the first floor, Roman antiquities and medieval period artefacts on the second floor. Due to reconstruction works, closed during 2018 and beginning 2019.

Get a taste of local life at the city's most popular gathering venue, and take a stroll along the narrow alleyways lined with myriad cafés and restaurants. The fountain in the middle of the square was designed by Friedrich Joachim Stengel, and together with Ludwig's Church and the Castle, it forms what is called the Stengel triangle. You'll also find Fröschengasse here, formerly a workers' district with Baroque-style houses.

As you leave the terminal, follow the main road (Melville Street) and continue straight until you reach the heart of the city. Taxi: Taxis are readily available at the cruise terminal. You can easily find a taxi stand where licensed taxis are waiting to transport passengers to various destinations, including St. George's. The ride from the cruise terminal to St. George's by taxi takes around 10-15 minutes. Shuttle Service: Some cruise lines or tour operators offer shuttle services from the terminal to St. George's. Check with your cruise line or tour operator to see if they provide this service and how to access it. Public Transportation: Grenada has a public bus system known as the "Regal Bus Service." However, it may not be the most convenient option for getting from the cruise terminal to St. George's, as bus stops may not be located directly near the terminal.
