Once a sacred site for the ancient indigenous community of Muiscas, La Candelaria neighbourhood is where Bogotá was founded back in 1538. Naturally, this is the first stop for many tourists. Steep stone streets are lined with colonial buildings that house cafes, restaurants and artisanal shops. Some buildings are showing signs of their long life, while others have been revitalised with colourful street art. You will find major cultural hotspots like the Gold Museum, Museo Botero, the colonial-era cathedral dedicated to the Virgen de la Candelaria and the neoclassical Capitol flanking Bolivar Plaza. Navigate the winding streets of the historical centre yourself or follow a guided tour of La Candelaria.

The City Tourist Route is a 7-km-long loop which connects 42 sites – the most interesting monuments and places worthseeing. The idea behind the route was to commemorate the 750th anniversary of granting town privileges to Szczecin. The route is marked by an easily found red dotted line painted on the pavement, and thus the common name of the trail is the “Red Route”. Numbers in circles act as supplementary signs corresponding to each site on the route. Near to each number an information board with a detailed description of the object is either suspended on the wall of the building or standing alone. A pocket guidebook published in various languages, including a map of the route, can be purchased at the tourist information centres, the local seat of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society and in bookstores. Australia’s highest peak is Mount Kosciuszko. Standing at 2,228 metres above sea level, it presents a stunning perspective from its majestic peak. A chairlift will take you to the highest access point to the mountain throughout the year. In the warmer months, a walking trail to the peak is open. From the chairlift, it's an easy 6-kilometre walk to the top for breathtaking views.

With almost 700,000 hectares of outstanding beauty, this spectacular national park contains Australia's five highest alps, glacial lakes, limestone caves, grasslands and woodlands. The park is recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and contains plants not found anywhere else on the Earth. The winter skiing is some of the country’s best, and you can explore this vast wonderland year-round.
