Along the coast, the archipelago turns into sandy beaches by the time you reach the western corner of the county. Instead of an archipelago, it has beaches—many long ones with beautiful fine sand. In Sölvesborg, there is a beach for every day of the week and even more. Some of them are full of life and offer kiosks, restaurants, and playgrounds, while others are quiet and hidden.

The Glass House Mountains are eleven isolated pinnacles sticking up from a flat plain in the hinterland. The tallest is Mount Beerwah at 556 metres. It is highly recommendable to climb one of them to look at the fantastic view.

A short walk through the Valla forest nature reserve takes you to Valla farm, with museums showing agricultural and technical history, farm animals, a large playground, cafés and a miniature golf course.

The whimsical sculptures, mosaics and all manner of street art creations by artist José Fuster in Jaimanitas make for an entertaining excursion from Havana proper. The artist's own home is the centerpiece, decorated in his characteristically surreal style from top to bottom. The so-called "Fusterlandia" is now about two decades in the making, and continues to grow to-date.
