Mt. Holiday is home to year-round recreation for the entire family. During the winter season, take advantage of the abundant snowfall that blankets Northern Michigan by skiing, snowboarding, or tubing down the slopes of Mt. Holiday, which range in difficulty from beginner to advanced. In the summer, enjoy a round of disc golf at the 18-hole Carly Lewis Disc Golf Course.

The narrow-gauge railway is Sweden’s longest historical treasure. The Hultsfred-Västervik line was finished in 1879 and was in service until 1984. During the summertime, you can once again experience the sensation of riding the 50s-style orange-n-gold railcars. A trip that stretches over 70km, from the forests of Småland in the west, past lakes, through small communities and agricultural areas out to the archipelago in the east.

Åbro Bryggeri is Sweden’s oldest family-run brewery and one of Europe’s most modern. Since 1856, Åbro Bryggeri has been brewing beer with water from the same spring in Vimmerby. Åbro Bryggeri brews a number of beers, such as the flagship Åbro Original and the premium series Bryggmästarens. Get to know the history and production through a guided tour or visit the restaurant Brygghuset and experience the new microbrewery.

Himmelsberga is Öland's most authentic village, now preserved as an open air museum with enclosed farms built along both sides of the narrow village road. The heart of the museum consists of several large farms with buildings dating back the 18th and 19th century. The cottage is still has the original furniture, and the old stables are packed with all the tools and equipment that were used on the farms. The coffee shop sells freshly baked bread and hot pies, and you can buy genuine Öland handicrafts in the village shop. Himmelsberga holds exhibitions of arts and crafts in its two galleries. There's also an art museum with a collection of older and modern Öland paintings.
