No supermarket can replace the charm of personal contact with a vendor or the excitement of an unpredictable purchase at the main Rijeka market, known as Placa. It developed in the 19th century, next to the seashore, right by the wooden pier where the local fishermen used to unload their catch and carry it in baskets to be sold at the market.

Rijeka is reflected in Korzo, at Korzo you can read Rijeka. Anyone who, at least once, had a coffee at one of the terraces of numerous and picturesque café bars lined along this unusual promenade, would agree.

Due to the tropical climate and fertile soils, the rainforests of Samoa are a lush and vibrant paradise. Native wildlife such as seabirds, skinks, flying foxes, geckos, as well as a plethora of unique flora call the forests home. Le Pupu-Pue National Park on Upolu is one of the best with extensive walking tracks and a listed 42 bird species. Tafua Peninsula Rainforest Reserve, in the southeast, is another bird watchers haven where you may see the rare Samoan tooth-billed pigeon. In the Falealupo Rainforest Reserve, take the treetop canopy walkway built about 40 metres above the ground among giant Banyan trees!

This sui generis reserve is situated almost 3 km away from Trapani's centre, it covers the ancient salt ponds of Trapani and Paceco. Visitors can freely walk around in the reserve and see and hear all sorts of wildlife that have repopulated the area now that they are protected. This sight shows its best at the end of the day thanks to the silhouette of windmills and the flat landscape against the beautiful colours of the sundown.
