Monestario De La Cartuja is an elaborate Baroque monastery and church, constructed between the 16th and 18th centuries. The Sanctuary and Sacristy are particularly impressive. Within the brick walls you can enjoy breathtaking gardens and experience how clerics and monks lived in times past.

The Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre features a first-rate Bush Tucker Cafe, an exceptional Indigenous art gallery, cultural programs, accommodation, an events centre, and a Cultural Heritage Research Unit. Special events include Aboriginal art classes, Gumbaynggirr language classes, storytelling sessions, dance performances and workshops, clay modelling, traditional basket weaving, and guided tours of Aboriginal sites. The Wadjar Regional Indigenous Art Gallery showcases the works of regional Indigenous artists, artisans, and craftspeople. It is also home to the Annual Saltwater Freshwater Indigenous Art Award. The gallery features an extensive collection of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, as well as books, clothing, CDs, and gifts, all produced locally.

The Museum of International Folk Art has a history of preserving the arts spanning six decades. In the time since their opening in 1953, the museum has gained national and international acclaim as an accredited art gallery. With a collection of more than 135,000 artifacts, they are home to the world’s largest collection of folk art.
