Not everyone has the opportunity to travel to Africa, but if you are in Liverpool you can get a taste of it by visiting Knowsley Safari Park, located in Prescot, less than 30 minutes away from Liverpool. The most visited zoo in the UK offers an extensive diversity of species and around 35,000 different animals at only a 35-minute car ride south of Liverpool's city centre. You can easily spend an entire adventurous day with your family or partner exploring the 128 acres of this zoological garden. The zoo contains highly endangered animals such as black rhinos, Bornean orangutans and Asian elephants, to name a few.

Under the shelter of lush rainforest, the archeological site of Kohunlich is an outstanding example of Maya architecture. Palaces, citadels, temples, such as the top attraction Temple of the Masks, and other elaborate structures are scattered over an area of more than 20 acres, with most landmarks dating back to as early as 250 to 600 AD. Chetumal is a common starting point to visit Kohunlich, but tours are available at the Costa Maya Cruise Port as well. If you are in the area, don't miss out on the opportunity to visit Dzibanche, another outstanding Maya landmark around 20 miles away from Kohunlich.
