This is Tivat’s waterfront heart—a lively promenade lined with palm trees, cafés, and the occasional moored yacht. Locals linger over espresso, kids ride bikes, and visitors take their time soaking in the bay views. The sea is just a few steps away, so if the sun gets too much, a quick splash will do the trick.

Set in a beautifully restored 19th-century sawmill, the Naval Heritage Museum is a small but fascinating dive into Tivat’s maritime past. The collection features over 300 artefacts, including rare Austro-Hungarian naval equipment, old photographs, and even a pair of authentic Yugoslav submarines.

The United States Capitol dominates the eastern end of the National Mall on Capitol Hill — its dome, completed during the Civil War, is hard to miss. The Capitol is the seat of the United States Congress, and it has been a center of American politics since 1800. Inside, the Visitor Center walks you through its history, shows off its art collection, and explains how the legislative branch works. Free guided tours are available, but booking ahead is a good idea — lines can get long, especially in peak season.

You will find the Big Buddha on Lantau Island which is the largest island in Hong Kong. Big Buddha is the world's largest seated outdoor bronze Buddha statue, which is more than 34 metres high. After the visit, head to the monastery nearby where you can eat a vegetarian lunch with the monks.
