The Fernleigh Track, part of the decommissioned Adamstown-Belmont coal train line, now serves as a destination for a highly enjoyable 15-kilometre bike ride. The track starts in the centre of Newcastle, at Adamstown train station, and goes through brick tunnels, attractive bushland and wetlands. The track is well-maintained for safe cycling, jogging and walking. The gradients are gentle, as befits an old train line, so there won't be any steep ups and downs. Stop at the Fernleigh Café in Adamstown for a delicious bite before heading back.

The Arabian Wildlife Centre houses several venues, such as a Children's Farm (where the little ones can feed and ride horses and donkeys), a Botanical Garden and the Wildlife Centre itself. Multiple species of animals are on display, from carnivorous leopards to birds and harmless small rodents.

This majestic castle nestled on the slopes of Cavehill dates back to 1870 and offers great views over Belfast Lough and the city. It is one of the most imposing buildings in the city, and visitors flock there to enjoy afternoon tea, a meal at the in-house restaurant or just to stroll around the beautiful, landscaped garden.

Despite its compact size, the Sharjah Heritage Museum offers visitors a comprehensive insight into the Emirate's history, culture, and traditions—and how those transformed over the past ages. Clothing, musical instruments, coins, pottery, and various other artefacts are on display.
