Part of Plaka, Anafiotika is a scenic neighbourhood of Athens on the northern slope of the Acropolis. Part of this area was destroyed in the 1950s for archaeological research. Today, there are only 45 old houses remaining, on the little unnamed streets from Stratonos to the Acropolis rock. It's a great example of the typical Cycladic architecture that gives visitors the feel of Greek islands in the heart of the city.

Situated in Gammelstad, the open-air museum Hägnan serves as a cultural-historical knowledge centre, offering a glimpse into the rich heritage of the North-Brabant coastal region. The museum features well-preserved buildings dating from the 1700s to the 20th century, creating an immersive village experience that brings history to life. In the summer, Hägnan transforms into a lively space with the addition of animals, including pigs, sheep, rabbits, and chickens, providing a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. As winter arrives, Hägnan becomes a festive hub with a Christmas market and a splendid fire festival.

The small town of Caltagirone, located 42 miles from Catania, is at the heart of Sicily’s ceramic handicraft tradition. The town also offers beautiful architecture, so do not miss the richly decorated walls of the Scala dei Santa Maria steps. The stairs are lined with old historic buildings.
