For a close encounter with Luxembourg's industrial past, make time for a visit to this blast furnace once used for steel production. Furnace A can be explored both independently or as part of a guided tour; those who make it all the way to the top will be rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding areas.

Located next to the Church of Suffragio in Piazza Ferrari, the City Museum, Museo Della Città, is housed within a former Jesuit monastery. It has numerous exhibits of local historical and artistic heritage including those in the Roman Lapidary, the Archaeological Section and paintings. It currently has over 1,500 works on display across 40 galleries, and the museum's collection continues to grow as new sections are planned for future openings.

The National Art Gallery is a modern multi-functional centre of art and culture. Visitors become acquainted with a permanent exposition, presenting Lithuanian modern and contemporary painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, objects, installations, and video art. Here you can also take part in cultural events, lectures, and educational programmes.

Båtsmansgränd is a narrow alley located in Gamla Öster, the area above the harbour. Here, you'll find eight quaint, timber-framed boatmen's cottages, constructed in the 1740s. Their simple yet traditional design reflects the era's architectural style. Originally, they served as homes for the boatmen and their families, whom Västervik town was obliged to equip on behalf of the Crown. In the first half of the 20th century, the cottages housed members of the citizens' fire brigade. In the 1970s, these now heritage-listed cottages were converted into a hostel, available for rent in the summer.
