Located in the heart of the historic Trinity College, this lavishly illustrated manuscript of the Gospels dates back to the 9th century. A marvel of Early Christian art is housed in the 65-metre Long Room in the Old Library — an incredible sight in itself. The room with its barrel-vaulted ceiling inspired the imagery of the Jedi Archive in Star Wars Episode II.

Located in the Capuchin Monastery since 1599, the Catacombe dei Cappuccini houses 8,000 mummified bodies and skeletons of former residents of Palermo who died between the 17th and 19th centuries. It's a somewhat macabre insight into the customs and traditions of the Palermitan society of the time, with gender, religion, profession, and social status rigidly applied to the disposition of the bodies.

Over 2,400 km of prepared snowmobile trails await you around Idre, providing a fun way to explore the area's stunning natural surroundings. In particular, the Älvdalen's area offers two great areas for snowmobiling: the Nordic Area (www.nordicarea.se) in the south and the Snöskoter Område Norra Dalarna (www.sond.se) in the north. To drive a snowmobile here, you'll need a license that can be obtained at the tourist office, at gas stations and at some other local businesses. You'll also need to ask for map and information about the rules and regulations you need to respect. If you don't have a snowmobile of your own, there is a wide range of rental companies in the area, with the possibility to go on a guided tour. One of them is Idre Adventure.

Located in Pulau Payar and the three surrounding islands, 30 km south of Pulau Langkawi, this marine park is a heaven for those who love snorkelling, because of its uncontaminated waters and abundant sea life. Of particular interest is the Coral Garden, a section of the park characterised by beautiful and colourful coral formations. The Park can only be visited as part of a tour, which can be booked in Langkawi. The boat trip takes around 45 minutes.
