The standout feature of the modern Vračar neighbourhood is the Temple of Saint Sava, the second-largest Orthodox church in the world. Its construction has not only defined the Plateau's current appearance but also shaped the skyline of Belgrade, making it visible from most parts of the city. The Plateau underwent a transformation in the early 2000s, with the addition of fountains, marble access roads with pillars leading to the temple, and children's playgrounds. The existing Karađorđe Monument, the leader of the First Serbian Uprising, remains a key element. The plateau is also home to the National Library of Serbia and Karađorđev Park. Nearby, you'll find the artisan settlement of Gradić Pejton and the bohemian quarter of Čubura.

Constructed in the Neo-Byzantine style between 1876 and 1883, when the country was a part of the Russian Empire, the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Riga is the largest Orthodox church in the city. It has undergone several transformations over the years, being used as a planetarium and a restaurant during the Soviet Era. However, it has since been fully restored as a church and now holds regular Orthodox services. It has also one of the biggest organs in Europe with 6,768 pipes.

This observatory, museum and educational and cultural center is dedicated to the study of the stars and the galaxy, as well as the cultural and historical importance of nearby Mauna Kea. It features interactive exhibits, shows and events.

Contained inside what was once built to become a public prison, the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art is a local cultural center that boasts a regular rotation of exhibitions, showcasing various forms of artwork (from painting to modern design). There is no permanent exhibition, however, so do check what's on when you're in town.
