The Gardens by the Bay are among the world's most spectacular urban developments. The spectacular park also offers numerous benefits to the environment. Gigantic "Super-trees" house 158,000 plants that help offset some of the city’s carbon emissions. They also collect rainwater into reservoirs that are used to water the rest of the park. Some of the "Super-trees" are equipped with solar panels.

Pyrgos Kallistis is a medieval fortress surrounded by cobbled streets that twist and turn down the hill towards the village. With its 600 residents, Pyrgos retains the allure of an old Greek village that is gradually opening up to the growing influx of tourism. Tavernas, restaurants and traditional Greek cafés find their home along the village streets, blessed by the scent of grapes released by the vineyards that surround Pyrgos.

Smaller and less detailed than the Prehistoric Museum, this one focuses more on sculptures, pottery, and artefacts from the Classical and Hellenistic periods. It’s right in Fira, so easy to drop into if you're nearby, but it’s best paired with the Prehistoric Museum to get the full picture of Santorini’s ancient past.

The National Technical Museum showcases over a century of technological innovation. Established in 1908, it offers 26 permanent and temporary exhibitions spanning various technical fields, sciences and industries. The museum's extensive collections, interactive educational programs, and research activities make it a treasure trove for those interested in the history of technology. One of the many significant exhibits at the museum is the aircraft flown by Czech aviator Jan Kašpar. He executed a 92-minute, 121-kilometre flight in this very aircraft in 1911.
