The IWM North explores the impact of war and conflict on people’s lives, both historically and in the present day. Designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the building itself is a striking representation of a world fractured by conflict. At its opening, Libeskind described his vision as creating a space that 'emotionally moves the soul of the visitor toward a sometimes unexpected realisation'. Located on Trafford Wharf Road in Trafford Park, the museum overlooks the Manchester Ship Canal, an area that played a crucial industrial role during World War II and suffered heavy bombing in the 1940 Manchester Blitz.

Simply pick up a leaflet or a map and walk around the streetscapes of beautiful Victorian buildings. If you get tired, hop on the Newcastle’s Famous Tram, a replica of the original Newcastle working tram in service in the 1920s. The tram stops outside Newcastle Railway Station on Watt Street and the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Wharf Road on weekdays only.

Better known as the “Red Church”, the Church of St. Simon and Helena was built in 1910 by a Polish noble to commemorate the death of his two children – the tower’s three bells are named after him and the dead children.

The Manuel Antonio beach is an absolutely beautiful piece os nature where you can see monkeys, toucans, raccoons and sloths on the seafront edges of the national park. Mind your stuff — those monkeys love grabbing backpacks and dragging them into the forest. You'll find a cute café up the hill and a shower facility.
