For those interested in Texas history while in Montgomery, be sure to visit the N.H.Davis Pioneer Complex & Museum which displays artifacts and memorabilia from the era when Texas was an independent republic. The museum is housed in a historical structure originally owned by a lawyer, who built it in 1851 using logs received as payment for legal services. Visitors can explore period furnishings, a replica of the original Lone Star Flag sketch, and the Republic of Texas seal, both adopted in 1839. The complex also features informative plaques that detail the lives of Native settlements in the area.

Punakha Dzong is the second largest and second oldest dzong in the whole of Bhutan, and until 1955, it served as the country's seat of government. Located at the confluence of the Mo and Pho rivers, it is also the country's greatest fortress, built to defend against Tibetan invasions.

With its fountain and hills forming many geometric shapes, Moerenuma Park is an attraction for all four seasons. In spring the trees look like a sea of cherry blossoms, in summer you can enjoy the refreshing fountain and wading pool facilities, in the fall the whole park is full of colourful leaves and in winter you can go cross-country skiing or sledding.
