Haugesund and its surroundings offer a powder paradise for both alpine and cross-country skiers within a 30-90 minutes drive. Especially the Røldal Ski Destination is famous for its frequent snow fall and good skiing conditions.

The red sandstone battlements of Inverness Castle, built during the 1830’s, dominate the town and the River Ness. The Castle is the backdrop for the Castle Garrison Encounter, a re-enactment of life as an 18th century ‘redcoat’ soldier.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Birla Mandir is a stunning Hindu temple which dominates Hyderabad's skyline and has attracted visitors for decades. Constructed entirely of pristine white marble, the temple showcases exquisite South Indian architectural styles and offers panoramic views of the city from its hilltop perch on Naubath Pahad. Beyond its architectural beauty, the temple’s serene ambience provides a perfect retreat from the city's hustle and bustle.

The baroque "Chapel of Merchants, Shopkeepers and Bankers" was built at the end of the 1600s. This lesser known architectural jewel still holds numerous original artworks. The most noteworthy of them is the Perpetual Calendar built by the engineering Giovanni Plana — a primitive computing machine that allows its user to look up details about any date between the years 1 and 4000. Powered by a small wooden crank, the intricate gears and chains put into motion the nine inscribed cylinders, The chapel is only open to the public on the weekends, when mass is held. If you are lucky, you can attend the occasional classical music concert and experience the building's impressive acoustics.
