For some cultural entertainment, add Fort Myers' Art Walks and Music Walks to your agenda: these free happenings animate the social scene of the downtown River District at fixed times every month, while shops, art galleries and restaurants stay open until late at night, providing drinks on the sidewalk. The Art Walk takes place every first Friday of the month, 6pm–10pm, and takes you to 13 art galleries that offer self-guided tours and meet-ups with the artists. The Music Walk starts every third Friday of the month at 7pm, with bands and singers taking over the streets, performing in a wide range of music genres.

Inspired by the most revered figure of Jawaharlal Nehru, prime minister and leader of the Indian Independence movement, this artistic hub consists of a Planetarium and a permanent exhibition that covers every aspect of India's development and culture. Committed to promoting emerging artists, it also displays new talents, aiming to inspire new generations of young Indians. Special arrangements are made to watch, study and photograph solar and lunar eclipses, and many similar events.

Plaza Principal, also called El Jardin Principal, is the main square of Puerto Vallarta. This place is a wonderful oasis in the center of the city and often hosts events and concerts. Also, a great place where you can just sit down and watch people strolling by.

At just over 430 metres high, Pico do Castelo feels a little different from the island’s other viewpoints. It’s greener, quieter, and layered with history. The summit is dotted with conifers, a rare sight on an otherwise dry island. A cannon and the remains of a 16th-century fortress, built to protect the population from pirate attacks, mark its past as a defensive lookout. You can reach the top either as part of the PR2 hiking trail or by tackling the short, steep climb from Vereda do Pico do Facho, which takes about 15–20 minutes on foot. The payoff is a wide view over much of Porto Santo, and on clear days, even Madeira on the horizon.
