Located on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, one of the U.S.'s five great lakes, Sleeping Bear Dunes is a natural wonder that has been marked for preservation for its awe-inspiring beauty and natural resources. It takes its name from a Native American legend concerning its formation. It consists of Sleeping Bear, Empire and Pyramid Point bluffs that overlook the lake, and Manitou Islands, which are located about 15 miles offshore. There are numerous activities available to visitors of the park that include camping, hiking, kayaking and canoeing, biking, skiing, fishing, or simply exploring the myriad of ecosystems that are home to a diversity of plants and wildlife.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, Matheson Hammock Park is the perfect destination for families seeking a tranquil getaway, with its warm and safe waters and stunning views of the bay. The park boasts a unique feature - a man-made atoll pool that is naturally flushed by the tidal action of nearby Biscayne Bay. While the beach is the biggest draw for swimming and kite-boarding, a boardwalk trail, a playground, and a golf course also invite you to enjoy a warm and sunny day. As this park is mostly known among locals only, it is a great place for experiencing an authentic Miamian way of life.

XVIII century construction from the Baroque period, ascribed to José Sierra The church is situated in the old part of the town, just beside the Nobel house of the Orduña’s. This construction was built between 1740 and 1753 over the plot of land where the primitive temple used to be and dates from the Christian Conquest (XIII century). The church was burnt and plundered during the Civil War and was again changed in 1962, shortening its length and changing the ground floor, this led to the loss of the cupola and the transept. Between 1995 and 1996 we undertook the task of renovation and interior decoration in order to save the present day building.

Founded by philanthropist and supporter of the arts Isabella Stewart Gardner, the museum houses her private collection and works to uphold her life's mission of encouraging the development of new artists.
