Christchurch’s historic trams are an ideal way to explore the city centre in style. The route takes in sights such as Cathedral Square, the Botanic Garden, Canterbury Museum and the main shopping areas. At present, there are 18 stops along the route.

For a cultural detour, visit the Agios Georgios Church. Inside, you'll discover a 6th-century basilica complex that boasts rare geometric and animal floor mosaics — a unique find in Christian art. History buffs should also make time for Maa-Paleokastro, the Bronze Age landing spot of the Mycenaean Greeks, situated on a nearby peninsula.

This magnificent cathedral was built over 500 years ago, in the beautiful Gothic style. The cathedral has an impressive silver cross, donated by King Manuel himself in the 16th century, as well as sculptures and incredible oil paintings.
