This one-of-a-kind nature reserve is filled with deciduous forest, seaweed belts, pines and a bloomy open ground that borders a waterfilled quarry. It also showcases the rugged beauty of Karlshamn's granite and coastal gneiss. Rich in history, the land areas harbour ancient and cultural monuments, including a Stone Age settlement, graves, and stone burials from the Bronze and Iron Ages. Notably, remnants of the Per Albin Line, a 500 km long defensive line from the Second World War, add historical significance to the reserve. Submerged in the water area around Sternö and Boön, several shipwrecks contribute to the reserve's maritime allure.

Located in the cultural quarter of Karlshamn, Skottsbergska Gården, an 18th-century merchant's house, stands as a distinguished testament to Sweden's architectural heritage. This well-preserved edifice is among the country's most prominent monumental buildings, a rarity that sets it apart in the realm of burghers' houses. Maintained in its initial condition, Skottsbergska Gården is a unique treasure not only in Sweden but across Scandinavia. With historical significance and architectural grandeur, the old merchant's house offers visitors a glimpse into a bygone era, making it a noteworthy stop for those seeking a journey through Sweden's cultural and architectural history.

This majestic mausoleum dedicated to the 'Father of Modern Tunisia' Habib Bourguiba is decked out from top to bottom with white marble and decorative touches of emerald green, making it gleam in the hot sun of Monastir. The two towers poised on either side of the entrance to the tomb resemble the minarets of a typical Maghreb mosque. Indeed, most of the architecture that was designed by French architect Olivier Clement Cacoub bears a strong resemblance to traditional Islamic places of worship. Inside the mausoleum lies the Tunisian president of the 1960s, encased in an ornate marble sarcophagus which can be viewed up close on the ground floor or from above by accessing the balcony through an unassuming door to the right of the main entrance. Although it is free to enter the mausoleum, some may prefer to gain further insight into the history of the building by booking a tour from one of the licensed tour operators in the main city. It is inadvisable to hire the services of those guides operating within or beside the grounds of the mausoleum as most are unqualified. Opening times may vary and if the main entrance is closed, visitors can enter through a separate entrance on the other side of the building.

Open during the summer season, Martinssonska Gården is a beautiful art museum filled with sculptures from Johnny Martinsson, together with pieces by Thure Wahlström, Oscar Wickström and Per Serre.
