The three Art Nouveau kiosks by architect Ernesto Basile appear like unexpected gems along the buzzing streets of Palermo. Built about the end of the 19th century, the kiosks once hosted the traditional Sicilian vendors of soft drinks and refreshing beverages but are today converted into tobacconists. Chiosco Ribaudo located in Piazza Verdi, the most famous one, is a crimson and wrought iron building adorned with golden letters. The second Ribaudo kiosk in Piazza Castelnuovo is decorated with colourful majolica and mosaics while the Chiosco Vicari, in front of the Teatro Massimo, is a triumph of Moorish, Islamic, and Colonial architecture.

The best places to admire the splendid monuments of the colonial era are Ibrahim Ismail Chundrigar Road, Zaib-un-Nissa Street and M.A.Jinnah Road. Be sure to check out Liaqat Hall on Abdullah Haroon Road, the Empress Market, and the Karachi Port Trust building.

You will find the Big Buddha on Lantau Island which is the largest island in Hong Kong. Big Buddha is the world's largest seated outdoor bronze Buddha statue, which is more than 34 metres high. After the visit, head to the monastery nearby where you can eat a vegetarian lunch with the monks.

Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area provides a haven for a variety of waterfowl species amidst its pristine wetland habitat. Abundant species include mallards, wood ducks, black ducks, blue-winged teals, and green-winged teals. Wigeons, pintails, gadwalls, and shovelers also frequent the area, along with Canada geese. Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to observe these diverse species in their natural habitat.
