In 1928, Hub and Wim van Doorne opened the Van Doorne’s Trailer Factory (DAF), an interactive museum where visitors are transported back in time to the 1930s. The whole space showcases classical cars and trucks among old storefronts and an impressive replica town setting.

The University of Latvia Botanical Garden has something to offer at any time of the year, but summer is the time it should definitely not be missed. Bring a picnic set and retreat from the heat underneath the lush green trees.

This contemporary art center founded by Linda Pace houses masterpieces created by both local and global artists, like Alejandro Diaz and Do Ho Suh. All their exhibitions are free for everyone to enjoy and span across the two floors of the building, and they also host different themed events.

Founded in the 16th century by the Spanish, Rincón is the oldest settlement not only of Bonaire but the entire Dutch Caribbean. Its location, in the valley, once provided shelter from pirates. Today, it offers great hiking options with breathtaking views. As a cultural centre, it is home to attractions such as the rock formations of Gruta Lourdes, a pilgrimage site, and the Kas Krioyo, an authentic Bonairean building that currently houses a museum. The island's only distillery, Cadushy, is also located here, and it is worth timing your visit so you can celebrate with the locals on Rincón Day on 30 April.
