Located in Szczytnicki Park close to Hala Ludowa (Centenary Hall), the Japanese Garden was built for the World Exhibition of 1913, and features water gardens and lakes, a bridge in authentic architectural style, stone lanterns and pavilions, and a general Zen vibe.

This beautiful example of Spanish colonial architecture contains a small museum dedicated to the Spanish Inquisition's brutal persecution of heretics once carried out in these very chambers. Visitors can still see some of the torture devices used to extract confessions of heresy and witchcraft, along with some of the questions used in "witch" interrogations, which are still displayed on the museum wall. Needless to say, no prisoner could hope to be acquitted of their purported crimes against the Catholic Church, and most met their tragic end at the very guillotine still on display in the courtyard.

Hannover Arts Association annually stages numerous national and international exhibitions reflecting important developments and schools of contemporary art. Founded in 1832 already, with the aim of spreading the sense for Fine Arts, it today has more than 1,200 members and an even bigger client base of regulars that come here for experiencing great art and interesting discussions.
