The night cruise on the rivers and the four lakes Banyan Lake, Wooden Dragon Lake, Gui Lake and Shahu Lake in Guilin is spectacular. Due to the innovative use of lighting in the gardens and buildings along the lakes, the bridges, buildings and pagodas are beautifully illuminated. Originally established in 1523, the San Thome Cathedral was rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style in 1896. The church is believed to be built over the shrine that holds the remains of Saint Thomas the Apostle, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. St Thomas is said to have come to India in the 1st century AD and was martyred in Chennai.

The Solitary Islands Marine Park is the third largest marine protected area in New South Wales, covering a total area of 71,000 hectares and stretching along 75 kilometres of coastline from Coffs Harbour north to the Sandon River mouth. The park is home to an incredible diversity of marine life, including tropical, temperate, and sub-tropical species of fish, coral, and algae, making it a major attraction for divers. Signage throughout the park indicates where specific activities such as diving, fishing, and collecting are permitted. Within its boundaries, the marine park includes tidal waters, estuaries, beaches, and headlands, all protected by a special zoning scheme designed to conserve fish habitats and preserve the area's natural beauty.

The Madras Crocodile Bank, located about 40 kilometres south of Chennai, is known for its conservation efforts and educational programs related to crocodiles and various types of reptiles. It houses a large collection of crocodiles, alligators, and other reptiles, and serves as a valuable resource for herpetology research and public education.
