The Bob Hope (Fox California) Theatre in Downtown Stockton, built in 1930, was one of only two "movie palaces" in the Central Valley. Today its 2,042 seats are host to year-round live theater, musicals, concerts, family events, classic cinema and comedy. The Bob Hope Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and features a marble mosaic floor that encompasses a 1,200 square foot space in the center of the lobby. This marble was imported from Italy and the mosaic was designed by a Canadian artist. The Theatre also features a 1928 Robert Morton theater organ, which came from the Seattle Fox Theatre which closed over 40 years ago. This organ was restored and donated to the theater by The Friends of the Fox, a volunteer organization that has been instrumental in preserving the theater. Dating back over 3,000 years, Karnak is a monumental complex of temples, pylons, and chapels. The most significant structure is the Temple of Amun-Ra. The Hypostyle hall, at 16,459 square metres and featuring 134 columns, is still the largest room of any religious building in the world. Besides the main sanctuary, there are several smaller temples and a vast sacred lake.

Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal which is one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Then you walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. Posters of information are a great resource of information about the history and evolution of the hallways you walk through. This island, in the middle of the Mississippi River, lies just north of Saint Anthony Falls in Minneapolis and has a population of 1,101, 2024 U.S. Census. The island is a showcase for beautiful architecture and natural landscape as well as The Bell of Two Friends, a gift from Japan, and the Nicollet Island Pavilion event centre, located in Nicollet Island Park and built in 1893.
