If you saw the movie Frida, the studio and home of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo is a must stop on your visit to Mexico City — some of the scenes were filmed here. The complex of buildings is a great example of functional architecture, with its abundance of soft light and free flowing creative atmosphere. The houses are linked with an elevated walkway, representing the separate yet linked lives the two great artists lived. Check for temporary visits before going! Some areas of the house might be closed if there is no exhibit.

The magnificent wooden church of Åre Parish, consecrated in 1894, is designed in Neo-Gothic style. It harks back to a time when economic growth in the area, thanks to emerging tourism, copper mining, and forestry, led to a significant increase in both residents and visitors, making the old church too small.

Take a photo of the replica of the legendary Grand Staircase and get a feel for what it was like aboard the famous luxury liner, as well as a sense of perspective of the magnitude of the disaster. Upon entering, you will receive a boarding ticket from an actual Titanic passenger, with some information about that person. And at the end of your visit, you will find out if this person survived the catastrophe or not.

The Marine Science Center is a hands-on hub for wildlife conservation and education. Visitors can explore the turtle rehabilitation area and watch as staff care for injured and endangered sea turtles. The seabird rehabilitation sanctuary is a haven for birds recovering from injuries. For a truly interactive experience, don’t miss the stingray touch pool, where you can get up close with these interesting creatures.
